I resent the word “cryptocurrency”.

Not because it’s a misnomer (which it is) but because it misleadingly depicts what we’re building & our industry.

Currencies don't create value. They don’t provide services or infrastructure. DeFi is far more than this. Stop using the word 🧵

The term "Cryptocurrency" is a misnomer that misleads people about crypto and why it's so important and valuable. Builders in DeFi are creating financial infrastructure, not "currencies".

Normies think the whole space is internet money. This word is largely to blame.
